Unfortunately, dental insurance has not kept up with the times. Most dental insurance companies have a maximum benefit per year of approximately $1500. This has not changed since the 1970s. It is still the same $1500 per year for the last 40 years!!!!! If you were to factor in inflation, the maximum benefit per year would be $12-$15,000….it just does not make sense.

Most of our patients have advanced procedures are done that generally go beyond the low $1500 per year benefit. So whether you see an “in-network” or “out-of-network” dentist, it really does not matter because they will still only pay $1500 per year. 100% of the patients that see Dr. Ramsey Amin choose to see him out of their insurance networks because they want their dental work done right.

Medical insurance is not the same…they work completely differently. The maximum yearly benefits are much more realistic.

Despite the fact that dental implants, sedation, bone grafting, complex reconstruction, and other non-covered procedures offer superior treatment results that can greatly enhance the quality of life, most dental insurance companies do not feel that they should have to pay for these services. Dental implants are only sometimes included in employee benefit packages.

Remember, insurance companies are not dedicated to providing optimal care, but to fulfill their contracts with your employer.

Very few things in life carry such a long-term benefit. Most people purchase a new car every five to seven years…your teeth are for a lifetime!
